it was always a treat when we were little when our mom would let us play in the rain. so far i can't quite bring myself to let the kids full on play in the rain. but we most certainly stomp around in the river after the showers let up. this week should afford more stomping. and hopefully no tornadoes.

These pictures are so beautiful, the light and colors are so rich and deep.
And...if you get out some towels, wait on the porch, and just let them go for it, playing in the rain is pretty fantastic. Just saying.
but playing in the rain is so much fun! one of the funniest things I've ever seen was the hubby dashing out in the garden with his nephew (who was four at the time) in his arms and the two of them just standing there laughing their heads off getting absolutely drenched! they looked like they'd been standing under a waterfall when they came back in. I'm sure the nephew will never forget that day :)
i remember going outside after a summer rain when i was a tot and how the worms would suddenly appear on the sidewalk. i still adore being outside in warm weather rain... unfortunately, warm weather and rain don't come together very often here in san francisco. i'll need to plan a trip so i can seek out the lovely couple.
your pictures are absolutely breathtaking. i wish i could capture my children the way you do yours... if you don't mind me asking, what kind of camera do you use? any tips of suggestions? it is my greatest aspiration to photograph the way you do. i better hurry up before these little ones pass me by... keep up the beautiful work, i love following your blog.
I like you blogging everyday. Can you do more of this?
And there is nothing quite like playing outside after the rain. Even now :)
my only complaint is that i can't see your pictures.
what's up with that. stupid work computer.
i LOVE to play in the rain. it was the only relief we got from those scorching summer days and it would make the pavement steam.
you should get a slip n slide. those things rule in the rain.
serious, huff...you need a publication of only kids doing what they do...your pictures are so clean, vivid and say so much...and i love that you have the talent: the eye, the equip: your camera, and some of the cutest of all in KC...the subjects: your babies! beautiful, sincere stuff!
