i hope everyone has a wonderful time tonight, whether you are relaxing at home on the couch with munchies or going to a swanky jello party! huffmania will be at a swanky party, but sadly no jello...
i also want to say a big thank you to this funny, creative, amazing blogging community that has been such a big part of my year. making new friends, sharing ideas and encouragement for just about any project you can imagine has been such a blessing for me. i also love the fact that so many of my friends here in kc have blogs that keep me laughing all the time. i cant get over how wonderful this community is, and that i just happened to stumble upon it, and now i dont think i could do with out it. thank YOU!
and if you feel like a smile and some goosebumps to round out the day, watch this amazing movie. thanks john for the link, see you tonight my friend!
it was fabulous to see you guys when we were in town. hope all the huffmans have a wonderful 2006! maybe l.a. will be on your list of new year's resolutions?
if i admitted how much of a duh experience i had last night messing with the memory card for my camera, i would really embarrass myself. so stupid... but the good news is that it works again!! here is about the only project on my christmas list that i managed to complete. i had worked out my paper sizes (#10 flat cards from papersource if you're into that kind of thing) and colors loooong ago. the design part took me longer. i was all over the map with what i wanted to do, but finally came back to my roots and stuck with a simple, clean look. lucky for sick little me, this was absolutely the best gocco run i have ever had, hands down. out of a pack of 50 cards, i only had one completely unusable one and maybe three or four sketchy ones. unbelievable! for me anyway. it was nice to have everything turn out just the way i wanted with such little hassle! now, does anyone know if it is possible to get three sets of quilted oven mitts and five baby gifts done in the next 48 hours? hmm...
there's nothing "duh" about the beauty of your cards. perfect little keepsakes and the greatest colors, i'd say the xmas card of the year!!! hi five and thank you. hope all are merry and bright.
your christmas cards are beeee-uuu-tiful! love the red and blue together. i must research the gocco and see if i can get one for my bday. are they user friendly?
according to the british, my site is a little too racy for their liking! my friend toby sent me this screen capture from a internet booth at the airport in london. i guess things like talking about snow, your kids, christmas and crafts is just a little to graphic for european tastes! who knew?
sorry for the lack of posting lately. this is mainly due to two factors: having been sick for the last week and a half and the stupid photo card on my camera going out. my poor, tortured lungs have been trying to deal with a wracking cough that has made my throat raw and my ribs ache. keep in mind that my lungs are also compressed to about a third of their size right now because of the gigantic bundle of baby taking up most of the space in my abdominal cavity. really a great time. this has also put a severe cramp in my christmas present making schedule, resulting in quite a few projects being put aside. oh well. at least i got my christmas cards gocco'ed and out the door. when i get my camera issues resolved i will post a picture. until then, please enjoy the christmas video that david put together at his new webpage mediatown. i made a little button for his site, if anyone is interested in adding it to their blog. here is the bit of code for your delight.
Hope you're feeling better soon! I had some sort of bronchitis the winter I was pregnant with Milly (who was born in May 2004), and ended up coughing so hard I literally broke a rib; I didn't even know that was possible. Take care!
HI Hannah! Oh, I hope that you're on the mend soon -- I, too, have been really sick. It's been well over a week now, and I'm still recovering! Do take care of yourself -- it's no fun being sick when preggers. :(
maybe i should say first real snow. we had some of that dry stuff slithering all over the road last week, but this is the good stuff. soft, powdery and oh so pretty...
Wow, you did get lots of pretty snow! We got snow, but not as much as you. We got lots of bitter cold too!!! Brrrrrrr Is that an attempt at digging tunnels I see or just a dive? So cute!
geewhiz! i am totally jealous :(, so wish for snow every year, but it's pretty much a no go for us in TN. although weatherman is predicting snow on the 23rd!!! have fun you guys
collette is looking a little unsure. but her snowy gloves show that she is getting the hang of it. i can't believe how much snow you got there! we only got a few inches.
i am working away like a busy elf on christmas presents and christmas cards. as for physical signs of christmas at our house, we are sorely lacking. we still have not gone to get a tree and have no decorations out. one thing has greatly put us in the spirit though, that being a fabulous download of sufjan stevens singing traditional christmas songs. go here now to get your own. thanks john for the tip, the songs really are wonderful.
don't worry hannah, i'm sure you'll score the $3 ginormous tree again this year. you have plenty of time! i think sufjan is the best thing thats happened to christmas music.
is this funky looking piece of metal and plastic the answer to all my sewing problems? probably not, but now that i am a proud owner of a walking foot for my sewing machine i hope it will make the quilting projects i have lined up much easier. its not that cool looking is it? eah, hope it works...
You will not believe the difference that this little gadget will make in your machine quilting. (In your life! Because there's almost nothing worse than a sewing headache, is there?))
If you ever work out how to use it (and make the job look good) can you please tell me? I have a walking foot, and the only thing I've managed to produce with it was a pot holder!! Which is handy, but machine quilting a quilt would be such a joy. Instead, I am sentenced to hand quilting forever....
this looks like something that was constructed in the 80s. i think my family had a tape measurer that looked a bit like this back then. i'm sure it will solve all your problems. i can't wait to see how it works! (and maybe borrow it!)
OOOOhhh! I think I'm at the same quilting level as you. NO, in fact, I think I'm probably the level before you! :) I'd love to know how this gadget works once you figure it out! I think I have one in all of my "accessories" for my very old Singer!

Thanks so much for the link, we all really enjoyed watching it. Buddy thought that the balls were gumdrops raining from the sky.
