yes. all of it. xo
that last picture is so full of wonder.
A friend just e-mailed me this post as encouragement. My husband and I are moving to a new town, not halfway across the country, but at least a 5 hour drive away from the friends and family that have become so dear to us in the past few years. We've talked about enjoying getting to enjoy just each other as we start fresh but I've drifted away from that and started to worry about how we will make friends and hoping the good ones will be made fast and about losing the old ones. Thanks for the gracious reminder to get back to the basics and contentment!
i may have asked you before, but i'm going to do it again anyhow....as long as you don't care.
can you tell me what camera you shoot with ?
i'm about ready to trade in my pentax and i'm so torn as to what direction to go....
so many cameras...so many opinions....and i really need this decision to be a good one on my part.
thank you !
So happy to read about your contentment, and "doing it right."
I've been thinking about you and your move, and wanted to let you know I am a year and a half ahead of you in our new town, and tonight we are going to a neighbor's house for dinner: we really like these people.
I walk the neighborhood with our dog, now, and say hello and chat with so many. I'm home.
I have been patient, but have had to discard some early relationships, since they just weren't going to work. So it goes.
This time with your Us will be a quiet and peace to look back on, yes, a time to savor. So so glad you all do your Us so well.
I love the rhythm of day to day in your photographs and your writing is spot on.
i know how you feel. it's the same way i felt when we moved to VT. xo
i feel that way everytime i move to a new place. it's good to get back to basics.
You are right! it's good to go back to basics. have a nice day
Hi Hannah! Love the last picture as well, very beautiful. But I REALLY love your talk of how good you guys are at "being us". That really articulates what I think I'm trying to still figure out in my marriage even before we add on kids to our "us". A beautiful idea worth aspiring to :)
This is a timely post for us. I keep coming back to your blog because I know you just moved. We really want a change, deep down, but are afraid. And I worry that our fear of moving our kids (who are older than yours) will cause us to be stuck here until they are all out of college. We even think about California, but are afraid of that, too. Afraid of not knowing anyone, having no family nearby, and being in such a crowded place. But your words about "just us" mean a lot and cause me to think more calmly about a potential move.
Love your photo's, love your posts, love your blog!
I've only just discovered it and I need more time to go through it all!
such good thoughts here, hannah. i still have to be patient with the process of settling in, even 9 months later. this is a good reminder.
all i can find is "family" type entries, where are the craft entry on freeze paper stenciling, there is no search place here, no info when you get a link from someones blog to go to this site, all you get is nothing on topic.
what beautiful lighting - I love your photos.
Your photos capture the fun chaos and treasured calm of summer. So lovely.
Your photos make me yearn for the simple happiness of contentment :)
